Museum To Temporarily Close Due To Covid-19

The National Museum of Bermuda [NMB] will be temporarily closing effective tomorrow [March 17] saying their “goal is to do everything we can to curb the spread within our community.”

A spokesperson said, “At the National Museum of Bermuda [NMB], the wellbeing and safety of our visitors, staff and community are our number one priority. We are mindful of our role as a civic institution and the part that we can play in minimising the spread of infectious diseases. With that in mind, we will be temporarily closing the Museum to the public effective tomorrow, March 17, 2020.

“We will continue to monitor the global outbreak of the novel coronavirus [COVID-19] and regularly assess this temporary closure. Our goal is to do everything we can to curb the spread within our community.

“In these challenging times, we believe that history, art and culture can keep us connected and inspire openness, empathy and creativity. You can stay connected with us through our recently launched blog, our on-line members magazine Maritimes and our social media platforms. We will be regularly sharing new material to keep you connected to Bermuda’s past.

“We are confident that, as we have seen before, the Museum and our community will show its resilience and ability to overcome challenging times. We look forward to welcoming you back to your National Museum soon.”
