2020 Ag Show Cancelled Due To Coronavirus

Due to the ongoing global Covid-19 pandemic, AG Show Ltd has made the decision to cancel this year’s exhibition event “to ensure people, young and old, are not putting themselves at unnecessary risk of getting ill.”

A spokesperson said, “With the health and safety of the Bermuda public in mind, AG Show Ltd has made the necessary decision to cancel the 2020 exhibition event to ensure people, young and old, are not putting themselves at unnecessary risk of getting ill.

“We have consulted with the Bermuda Government and decided the best and most prudent way to proceed at this time is to cancel the event. We apologise to the general public for any inconvenience this cancellation may cause and thank the people of Bermuda for their support and understanding at this time.

“The 2020 Exhibition, which was scheduled to take place from Thursday, April 23 to Saturday, April 25, was gearing up to be one of the most successful since the tenure of AG Show Ltd., with a record number of just under 5,000 entries submitted for the annual event.

“The organising committee is still in discussions with government departments and key stakeholders to determine best next steps for the event. If deemed possible, the Ag Show judges may try to visit the schools and rest homes in order to do their judging of the 40 square foot gardens, student art work and any other exhibits that can be reasonably and safely judged under these challenging circumstances.

“AG Show Ltd.’s committee fully understands and recognises that the health and well-being of the community is the first priority when asked to make a choice on whether to proceed with any public event. We encourage everyone to heed government’s advice and guidelines and be safe. AG Show Ltd looks forward to everyone participating in the 2021 Exhibition.
