2021 Bermuda Triple Challenge Cancelled

The 2021 Bermuda Triple Challenge — originally scheduled for March  — has been cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

A spokesperson said, “Due to the ongoing global Covid-19 pandemic, it is with great regret that we announce the 2021 Bermuda Triple Challenge originally scheduled for March 19-21 has been cancelled.

“Our commitment towards organizing an exceptional OCR and grassroots charity event in support of Bermuda’s youth has not wavered. However, in support of the Bermuda government’s guidance on group restrictions and minimizing the risk of spreading the Covid-19 virus, we feel that it is best to postpone the 2021 Bermuda Triple Challenge OCR weekend.

“We look forward to bursting back on the scene in March of 2022, with all the fun and excitement that you have come to expect from this unique OCR weekend.

“The race committee has spent the last several months researching all possibilities, evaluating options and working diligently towards finding an appropriate set of precautions to minimize the risk of spreading the Covid-19 virus.

“We have come to the conclusion that there is no way to safely run this event given the current circumstances in Bermuda and globally. Whilst we understand that this announcement will certainly be a disappointment for many, we cannot in good conscience host the event which would put participants, volunteers and staff at risk.

“We hope 2021 will see a remarkable improvement over 2020 and we are looking forward to seeing everyone once again in 2022.”
