AXA End-To-End Postponed Due To Covid-19

The AXA End-To-End has been postponed until October 31, the organisers said today.

Chair Anne Mello said: “We thought long and hard about this. We wondered whether we should even cancel the event, but we realised that probably now more than ever, the charities we support would need financial help.

“We are facing challenging times and I would urge everyone to abide by Government guidelines, practice social distancing and follow the self-quarantine rules. Working together we will get through this.”

The four charities being supported this year are the Bermuda Zoological Society, Vision Bermuda, the Garden Club of Bermuda and The Family Centre.

The Garden Club of Bermuda will use AXA End-to-End funding for its Skills Development Programme, which helps young Bermudians interested in horticulture, the BZS will use the funds for its schools programme, Vision Bermuda will use money to fund its regular work to help those who are blind or have a vision impairment and The Family Centre will use the donation to help strengthen families through improved family communication and to teach problem-solving skills to create better home environments.

Ms Mello added: “We have shared our decision with our sponsors, AXA XL, Butterfield Bank and Deloitte and they are fully supportive.”
