BF&M Closing Offices, Employee Tests Positive

A BF&M employee has tested positive for Covid-19, and the company said that the person is “not a customer-facing employee” however “as precaution and to ensure the safety of customers and staff, BF&M is closing its Bermuda offices for enhanced cleaning.”

A statement from the company said, “It was brought to our attention today that a BF&M employee has tested positive for Covid-19. This individual is not a customer-facing employee.

“As a precaution and to ensure the safety of customers and staff, BF&M is closing its Bermuda offices for enhanced cleaning from tomorrow, 11 December.

“We are in contact with the Department of Health. In the meantime, BF&M will continue to serve customers by phone at 295 5566 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., by email and online at bfm.bm. In addition, our dropbox service will be available. At this time, we anticipate resuming service for our walk-in customers on Monday, 21 December,” the company concluded.

This marks the third statement we have this afternoon announcing a temporary closure due to a positive Covid-19 test, following after the advisories from the National Sports Center and People’s Pharmacy. And as a note, the three should not be taken as an island wide total, it just means we have three statements, as the three entities took the initiative to issue public advisories.

Bermuda is experiencing a spike in confirmed cases, with the Government announcing this afternoon that the island has recorded 24 more positive Covid-19 results, so Bermuda now has 364 total confirmed positive cases to date, with 126 active cases.
