Beginning on Monday, March 30, Butterfield will provide limited banking services from Rosebank Centre on Bermudiana Road, and they will reserve two hours — from 9:00am to 11:00am — to serve seniors exclusively at that location.
A spokesperson said, “Beginning on Monday, 30 March 2020, Butterfield will provide limited banking services from Rosebank Centre at 11 Bermudiana Road in Hamilton.
“Teller services at Rosebank Centre will be available from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. daily, Monday through Friday, but the Bank will reserve two hours, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., to serve seniors exclusively at that location.
“Rosebank services will include deposit taking, withdrawals, cheque cashing, account transfers and credit card payments.
“Opening a temporary, second Banking Centre location in Hamilton will allow Butterfield to continue to provide essential banking services to the public, whilst reducing the number of people at each location to enhance protective, social distancing measures during the COVID-19 period.
“Wherever possible, customers are encouraged to conduct all banking transactions using Butterfield Online, the Butterfield mobile banking app, or ATMs at this time.
“The Bank, however, recognises that a large portion of seniors in the community are not equipped for or comfortable with the use of electronic banking channels. Providing services exclusively for seniors from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Rosebank allows Butterfield to serve older customers, who may be more vulnerable to COVID-19, in a less busy environment.
“Customers under the age of 65 who wish to conduct banking transactions in person may visit Butterfield’s permanent Banking Centre locations: St. George, Somerset, or Reid Street [Hamilton] between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, or the Rosebank location between11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Saturday banking services at Reid Street have been suspended until further notice.”
