Police: ‘Consider The Matter To Be Unfounded’

Following a report made in regards to a boat trip on July 11th which “allegedly involved Government members and breached the conditions of curfew,” the police said they “have looked into this today and consider the matter to be unfounded.”

A police spokesperson said, “Following a report made in regards to a boat trip on the evening of the 11th of July , which allegedly involved Government members and breached the conditions of curfew under COVID-19 regulations, the BPS have looked into this today and consider the matter to be unfounded.”

In addition, Premier David Burt tweeted, saying: “I’ve spent 1 hour of time dealing with a completely unfounded rumour of Cabinet Ministers on boat breaking curfew. That gossip is categorically false.

“What is funnier is that this boat trip that I was supposedly on happened while my wife and I were on our staycation without our children who were spending the night with my mom. I like to think I have magic powers, but haven’t mastered the power to be in 2 places at once.”
