“Schools Are To Use Phase 2 Covid Protocols’

“Given the volume of active cases and the number that are not currently linked to travel or known clusters,” schools will be moving to Phase 2, the Ministry has confirmed.

A spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Education has advised that all schools are to use Phase 2 of School Covid-19 Protocols effective immediately.

The Minister of Education Diallo Rabain said, “The Chief Medical Officer has informed the Ministry of Education that given the volume of active cases and the number that are not currently linked to travel or known clusters, that schools should move to Phase 2.

“All public and private schools have been notified and parents will be receiving further information directly. This measure is to ensure that we do what we can to keep our children in our schools in a safe environment.”

Minister Rabain concluded, “As we strive to keep our students, staff, and country safe, we urge those in the Bermuda Public School System who have not yet signed up for the Saliva Screening Programme to do so at https://bit.ly/Saliva_Screening_Consent.”
