‘Will Be Visiting Establishments Across Island’

The police are reminding all liquor licenced establishments that “they are to abide by the Public Health [COVID-19 Emergency Powers] Regulations 2020,” with the police noting that they will be “visiting establishments across the island throughout the holiday weekend.”

A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service [BPS], wishes to remind all establishments licenced under the Liquor Licence Act, that they are to abide by the Public Health [COVID-19 Emergency Powers] Regulations 2020, particularly as it relates to the prohibition of large groups, physical distancing and face masks requirements. The fine for a first offence is $6,000.00.

“The BPS will be visiting establishments across the island throughout the holiday weekend and are obliged to report any breaches. We will also be investigating any reports of breaches that are made to us.”
