The Ministry received 7112 test results — spanning 6 days — and 147 were positive, so there are now 220 active cases, of which 4 people are in hospital, and the Ministry confirmed that the island has recorded another coronavirus related death, marking the 129th since the pandemic began.
“I am sad to report that Bermuda has had another coronavirus related death,” said Minister of Health, Kim Wilson. “I extend my condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.”
“Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 7112 test results, and 147 were positive for the coronavirus, giving a test positivity rate of 2.06%.
“These results are from testing done on:
- Wednesday: 31 positive out of 1957 results [1.6% positivity]
- Thursday: 25 positive out of 1622 results [1.5% positivity]
- Friday: 22 positive out of 836 results [2.6% positivity]
- Saturday: 16 positive out of 745 results [2.1% positivity]
- Sunday: 21 positive out of 871 results [2.4% positivity]
- Monday: 32 positive out of 1081 results [3.0% positivity]
“30 of the new cases are classified as imported with a history of travel in the previous 14 days.
“The additional 117 new cases are classified as either local transmission [47] or under investigation [70].
“Additionally, there were 164 recoveries.
“There are 220 active cases, of which:
- 216 are under public health monitoring; and
- 4 are in hospital, with 0 in intensive care.
“Since March 2020, Bermuda has recorded 12711 coronavirus cases, out of which 12362 have recovered, and sadly there have been 129 coronavirus-related deaths.

- 38 are Imported
- 80 are classified as local transmission
- 102 are Under Investigation

- 4571 are Local transmission with known contact/source and

“Since January 11, 2021, Bermuda residents have received 129,795 vaccinations.
“Of the 129,795 vaccinations given as of March 30, 2022:
- 52% are women and,
- 48% are men
“87.0% of all residents over 65 years have had at least one vaccination, and 85.7% are fully immunised.
“To date, 75.5% of the population has been vaccinated [1 dose], and 73.8% of the population has been immunised [2 doses].
“72.9% of those eligible for a booster have received their booster. 6.0% of those with a booster have received a second booster dose.
“The Ministry of Health recently received sequencing results from CARPHA indicating the presence of Omicron sub-lineage BA.2, among positive cases on the island.
“Living safely with Covid requires us to continue to follow public health guidance,” said Minister of Health, Kim Wilson, JP, MP. “Please practise healthy behaviours and consider the safety of yourself and others.
“Keep a safe distance from others in public, wear a mask, and avoid closed spaces, crowded places and close contact settings. Have good hand hygiene, proper ventilation indoors, take an at-home antigen test before going to events and socialising, and get vaccinated and boosted.”
