The Ministry of Health received 777 test results and 11 were positive, so there are now 545 active cases, of which 25 people are in hospital, with 4 in the ICU.
The Government also confirmed the sad news that there was another Covid related death, marking the 16th death this month.
A Government spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Health received 777 test results since the last update, and 11 were positive for coronavirus, yielding a test positivity rate of 1.4%.
“Four of the new cases are classified as local transmission with known contact as they are associated with known cases.
“The additional seven new cases are classified as under investigation. These cases are among residents with no currently identified link to other known cases or history of travel in the past 14 days.
“Additionally, since the last update, there were 15 recoveries.
“There are 545 active cases, of which:
- 520 are under public health monitoring and
- 25 are in hospital with 4 in intensive care;
“Since March 2020, Bermuda has recorded 2393 confirmed cases of coronavirus, out of which a total of 1820 have recovered, and sadly 28 Covid related deaths.
- The source of all cases is as follows:
- 291 are imported
- 1633 are classified as local transmission of which:
- 1403 are local transmission with known contact/source and
- 230 are local transmission with an unknown contact/source
- 469 are under investigation

“The seven-day average of our real-time reproduction number is 0.52.
“Bermuda’s current WHO country status remains “Community Transmission”.
“The Bermuda College vaccination centre will continue to be open next week for walk-ins from 9 am to 1 pm from Monday – Friday,” said Kim Wilson, Minister of Health.
“The Bermuda College vaccination centre is not open on weekends. If you require a weekend appointment, please register for the vaccine on gov.bm, call the Covid-19 helpline on 444-2498, or attend this weekend’s walk-in vaccination clinic at TCD.”
“Those with appointments at the Bermuda College vaccination centre will be contacted to attend the Old Wing of KEMH for their vaccination. The vaccination hotline is doing follow up phone calls and emails to confirm the date and time of those switched appointments.”
“We would urge everyone to please read your confirmation emails carefully to ensure that you get the correct information regarding the time and location of your vaccine appointment.”
“Additionally, the Department of Health will have a Covid-19 vaccines ride through, drive-through, and walkthrough site on Sunday, 2 May at TCD, from 10 am – 2 pm. This is convenient for people who have not yet registered for the Covid-19 vaccine, do not have access to the internet and prefer to register in person, or have questions about the Covid-19 vaccine.”
“There are still people who want the vaccine but are putting it off for various reasons. I strongly encourage those sceptical about taking the vaccine to get as much information as you can. Speak to your physician about your concerns and what is best for you.”
