There were 588 test results received yesterday and none were positive for Covid-19, so the total of confirmed cases to date remains at 188, with 4 cases being active.
A Government spokesperson said, “Yesterday, there were 588 test results received by the Ministry of Health, and none were positive for COVID-19.
“Bermuda now has 188 total confirmed positive cases with status as follows:
- 4 active cases, who are
- all under public health monitoring, and
- none are hospitalized or in critical care;
- a total of 175 have recovered, and
- the total deceased remains 9.
“The average age of all of our confirmed positive cases is 56 and the age range of all of our positive cases is from 9 to 101 years.
“Overall, 50% of cases were Black, 43% White and 7% other/unknown.
“The average age of all deceased cases is 74 and the age range is 57 to 91 years.
“The source of all local cases is as follows:
- 77 are Imported
- 90 are Local transmission, with known contact
- 21 are Local transmission with an unknown contact, and
- none are under investigation
“Bermuda’s country status is ‘Sporadic Cases’. The seven-day average of our real time reproduction number is less than 1.
“The most recent three cases [reported at yesterday’s press conference] continue to be isolated and monitored by assigned contact tracers from the Ministry of Health. Close contacts of these cases have been identified, notified and are currently on quarantine.
“The Ministry of Health wishes to advise the public that the Southside COVID-19 testing facility will be open for traveller testing only but closed to walk-ins and general community testing this Sunday [October 25].
“This is to accommodate travellers and, in particular, an influx of visitors who have arrived in Bermuda for the Bermuda Championship PGA event.
“Anyone from the community who wishes to have a COVID-19 test should attend this Thursday or Saturday here.
“Some bookings [non-travellers] have already been made and the Ministry of Health will honour those but will not be taking any further bookings for Sunday.
“The following Sunday [Nov 1] testing at Southside will resume as normal.”
