The Ministry received 1229 test results and six were positive, so there are now 208 active cases of which 11 people are in hospital, with three in ICU.
A Government spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Health received 1229 test results since the last update, and six were positive for coronavirus, yielding a test positivity rate of 0.5 %.
“Four of the new cases are classified as local transmission with known contact as they are associated with known cases.
“The additional two new cases are classified as under investigation. These cases are among residents with no currently identified link to other known cases or history of travel in the past 14 days. Additionally, since the last update, there were 40 recoveries and no deaths.
“There are 208 active cases, of which:
- 197 are under public health monitoring and
- 11 are in hospital, with three in intensive care;
“Since March 2020, Bermuda has recorded 2461 confirmed cases of coronavirus, out of which a total of 2222 have recovered, and sadly 31 Covid related deaths.
“The source of all cases is as follows:
- 298 are Imported
- 1951 are classified as local transmission of which:
- 1552 are Local transmission with known contact/source and
- 399 are Local transmission with an unknown contact/source
- 212 are Under Investigation
“As investigations proceed, transmission categories may change.

“The Close to Home mobile vaccination programme will be at T N Tatem Middle School, Middle Road, Warwick, tomorrow, Thursday, 13 May, from 10 am until 2 pm. On Sunday, 16 May, they will be at Victor Scott Primary School, Glebe Road, from 10 am – 2 pm,” said Kim Wilson, Minister of Health. “There will be Doctors on site to answer any questions that people may have.”
“A mini-bus service will be available to take people from their homes to the mobile vaccination sites and back to their homes after. Anyone wanting to use the service should call 533-5903 between 10 am and 1:30 pm.”
