The Ministry received 4158 test results — spanning two days — and 92 were positive, so there are now 1377 active cases, of which 58 people are in hospital, with 12 in ICU, and sadly the Ministry confirmed there have been three more coronavirus-related deaths.
The active case is a decrease from the record high of 1612 last month.
“Bermuda has experienced three more coronavirus-related deaths,” said Minister of Health, Kim Wilson. “My deepest condolences to the families and friends who are mourning the loss of a loved one.”
“Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 4158 test results, and 92 were positive for the coronavirus, giving a test positivity rate of 2.2%.
“These results are from testing done on:
- Tuesday: 42 positive out of 2222 results [1.9% positivity]
- Wednesday: 50 positive out of 1936 results [2.6% positivity]
“One of the new cases is classified as imported with a history of travel in the previous 14 days. The additional 91 new cases are classified as either local transmission or remain under investigation. Additionally, since the last update, there have been 165 recoveries and three deaths.
“There are 1377 active cases, of which:
- 1319 are under public health monitoring and
- 58 are in hospital, with 12 in intensive care
“Since the last public report on Monday, there have been 10 admissions and 17 discharges from the hospital.
“Since March 2020, Bermuda has recorded 5336 confirmed coronavirus cases, out of which 3884 have recovered, and sadly 75 Covid related deaths.
“The source of all active cases is as follows:
- 57 are Imported
- 304 are classified as local transmission of which:
- 304 are Local transmission with known contact/source and
- 0 are Local transmission with an unknown contact/source
- 1016 are Under investigation
Active cases by vaccination status, transmission, and type:
- Imported cases: 93% are fully vaccinated, and 7% are not vaccinated
- Local/Under Investigation cases: 24% are fully vaccinated, and 76% are not vaccinated
- Variant typing is not available at this time due to the prioritisation of test results.
The source of all confirmed cases is as follows:
- 599 are Imported
- 3197 are classified as local transmission of which:
- 2536 are Local transmission with known contact/source and
- 661 are Local transmission with an unknown contact/source
- 1540 are Under investigation

“The seven-day average of our real-time reproduction number is 0.68. Bermuda’s current country status is Clusters of Cases. However, local data continues to indicate that Bermuda meets the criteria for Community Transmission. Community transmission is characterised by an increased incidence of locally acquired, widely dispersed cases, with many cases not linked to specific clusters.
“Covid-19 vaccinations are available in the Harbourview Ballroom of the Hamilton Princess on the following dates:
- Sunday, 3 October, from 10 am to 3 pm
- Friday, 8 October, from 3 pm to 7 pm
- Sunday, 10 October, from 1 pm to 5 pm
“Complimentary parking is available, as well as refreshments and sweet treats generously provided by the Hamilton Princess.
Minister of Health Kim Wilson said, “Those who have made the decision to get vaccinated can go to Hamilton Princess starting this weekend, register to request an appointment on gov.bm or walk into the KEMH Vaccination Clinic on Tuesdays & Thursdays, between 4 to 7 pm, or Saturdays, from 8 am to 4 pm. Medical doctors will be at Hamilton Princess and KEMH to answer any questions about Covid-19 and the vaccines.”
