Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the Bermuda Volleyball Association [BVA] has made the decision to cancel all events and training sessions up to and including April 12th, 2020.
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Volleyball Association [BVA] is committed to protecting the health and safety of our members, the public and those associated with our sport. We have been following the advice of the Government of Bermuda and public health experts regarding COVID-19. In light of recent events, the BVA has made the decision to cancel all events and training sessions up to and including April 12th, 2020.
“All training sessions for the BVA’s senior & junior, indoor & beach programs will be suspended through April 12th. Coaches will be in touch with individual teams, players and parents.
“BVA Spring League, which was scheduled to start on March 30th and run for 8 weeks, will now tentatively begin on Monday, April 13th and run for 6 weeks. Partial refunds for the 2 weeks of lost play will be issued to all teams. Your League Director will be in touch at a later date. Registration is still open for this league.
“The Bermuda Open is scheduled to take place from April 30th-May 2nd, 2020. The Bermuda Government has recommended that public gatherings of 50 people be postponed until further notice. If that recommendation is still in place by April 15th, the Bermuda Open will be cancelled for 2020.
“The Corporate Volleyball Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, May 9th, 2020. Similar to the Bermuda Open, if the recommendations that public gatherings of 50 people be postponed is still in place by April 25th, the Corporate Tournament will be cancelled for 2020.
“We will continue to monitor the appropriate public health and safety advice and encourage our members to take any and all reasonable precautions. It is our hope that play can be resumed as soon as it is deemed appropriate. We would like the thank our members for your patience and understanding. Until then, we hope you stay healthy.
