[Updated] Effective on Monday April 13th, “facial coverings will be mandatory for all persons entering” Harrington Hundreds, Supermart, Somers Supermart in St. George’s, and the Lindo’s stores.
A spokesperson said, “Beginning tomorrow, Monday April 13th, facial coverings will be mandatory for all persons entering Harrington Hundreds, The Supermart Ltd, Somers Supermart in St. George’s, The Lindo’s group of stores. Facial coverings must completely cover both mouth and nose. This is in the interest of staff and customer safety. We appreciate your understanding in these circumstances.”
Update April 13, 10.50am: MarketPlace has now also made a similar announcement, which means face coverings are mandatory at most the island’s larger grocery stores.
The company posted on social media saying, “Following the Government of Bermuda’s recommendation, all customers are required to wear face masks or other cloth face coverings when visiting our stores. Without a face covering you will not be permitted to enter.
“Thank you for helping us keep our associates and customers safe. We’re all in this together, the containment of the coronavirus is a shared responsibility.”
