As of July 25th, Bermuda residents without a pre-departure PCR Covid-19 test will be required to quarantine for four days, the Government said.
The Government posted the graphic online below, saying: “Update for Bermuda-bound Travellers: As of Saturday, 25 July, Bermuda residents without a pre-departure PCR COVID-19 test will be required to quarantine for four days. For more information, visit here.”
The Government website states, “Visitors must take a certified PCR COVID-19 test, ideally within 72 hours of departure, but no more than seven days, and obtain a negative result. This applies to adults and children aged 10 and up. Children who are 9-years-old and younger are exempt and are subject to their adult travel companion’s quarantine.
“Residents are not required to get a PCR COVID-19 test before travelling to Bermuda, but must quarantine for three days on arrival. As of Saturday, 25th July residents without a pre-departure PCR COVID-19 test will be required to quarantine for four days. Residents include work permit holders.”
“All travellers [residents and visitors] will undergo PCR COVID-19 testing at the Bermuda L.F. Wade International Airport.”
When previously asked via Twitter about residents not being required to have a test prior to arrival, Premier David Burt explained that “because for many it is the country of their birth. It is a difficult legal position denying someone the opportunity to return the land of their birth.”
