The Ministry of Health has modified the guidance on mask use for bus operators, stating that they are now allowed to remove their face mask when driving only, and this change applies to bus operators only.
A Government spokesperson said, “The Department of Public Transportation [DPT] can confirm that the Ministry of Health has modified its COVID-19 guidance regarding mask use for bus operators.
“Taking into consideration that bus operators sit behind a screen while driving – which reduces the potential spread of the coronavirus – they are now allowed to remove their face mask when driving only.
“However, when a passenger is boarding or disembarking, bus operators must put their mask back on.
“Please note that this change applies to bus operators only. All passengers are still required to wear a face mask – and keep it on at all times during their journey – while maintaining a minimum of 3 feet physical distancing.
“In addition, passengers must adhere to seating arrangements that ensure appropriate physical distancing when choosing their seat.
