City Drive-In Holiday Pajama Jam Postponed

The Drive-In Holiday Pajama Jam, which was scheduled for this weekend, has been postponed.

A spokesperson said, “With new restrictions in place due to the rise of Covid infections in Bermuda, the City of Hamilton regrets to inform the public that the Drive-In Holiday Pajama Jam, sponsored by HSBC and scheduled for this weekend, has been postponed.”

Senior Events and Marketing Coordinator, Allison Tucker, said, “While we are disappointed, we have a duty of care to ensure that our events are safe in this current climate and although a drive-in event would have had a heightened safety measure, we must trust and adhere to the new restrictions as outlined by Government.

“We want to assure the public that this is a postponement and as soon as restrictions are lifted and we are permitted to stage the event, we’ll look to reschedule it for early in the New Year. A huge debt of thanks must be paid to all those vendors, sponsors and logistical teams that were due to participate in the event.”

Tanya Bule, Head of Wealth and Personal Banking & Marketing, shared, “Although the Bank is disappointed in the postponement of the event, we fully support the Corporation of Hamilton in this decision and will continue to work with them, as they strive to provide a fun and safer event for all participants in the New Year.”

The City added, Holiday shoppers who were saving their Hamilton retail receipts for entry to the Drive-In are encouraged to hold on to them as they will be honoured when the event is rescheduled.

“Shoppers are reminded that the Three For Free parking initiative begins tomorrow with three free hours of parking in City Hall Car park. The initiative is designed to encourage shoppers to visit Hamilton and patronize the City businesses. The initiative will continue every Tuesday and Wednesday until Christmas in City Hall Car Park only.”
