The Registry General is advising that it will be closed to the public, however collection of certificates, notices, or any other documents may be done by appointment only.
A Government spokesperson said, “Following government advice on measures to tackle the spread of the Covid-19 virus, the Registry General wishes to advise the public that in light of the restrictions given to Public Officers the office will be closed to the public, however collection of certificates, notices, or any other documents may be done by appointment only.
“Customers wishing to submit hard copies of their applications for processing may do so via the Registry General drop box located on the 1st Floor of the Government Administration Building, 30 Parliament Street, Hamilton.
“Customers are asked to communicate via email or telephone as the doors to the Registry General office will be locked during this period. When emailing applications, all fees must be paid by direct deposit or wire transfer.

“Customers urgently requiring birth, domestic partnership, marriage, and/or death certificates may email their request via the following email addresses [please select that which applies]:-

Marriages
“The Registry General will facilitate scheduled Civil Ceremonies. Couples and no more than eight (8) guests must strictly adhere to COVID-19 regulations. Queries can be forwarded via email to rgmarriages@gov.bm.
Charities, Temporary Fundraising Licence, and Privately Funded Charities
- Charities wishing to submit annual reports may do so by sending statutory documents and proof of payment to charityinfo@gov.bm.
- Persons interested in making an application for a Temporary Fundraising Licence may submit their request on the required form via charityinfo@gov.bm.
- Applications for Privately Funded Charity exemption may be submitted on the required form via charitabletrustinfo@gov.bm.
- The Charity Register can be viewed on the official E-Gazette.
“The Charities Act 2014 states that it is an offence for a person, other than a registered charity or person acting on behalf of such charity, to solicit members of the public for or receive from any member of the public in any public place, a donation for any charitable purpose or for any professed purpose which is otherwise benevolent.
“Internet or online sites for fundraising for charitable or benevolent purposes in Bermuda may also require a temporary fundraising license or charitable status.
“Potential Donors should always request the Charity’s registration number before making donations and checking the Registry General website or contacting the Registry General to confirm if the Charity is registered and in good standing.
Intellectual Property Registration
“IP Agents and customers wishing to submit registration applications or submit any other documents for IP matters may do so via rgintellectualproperty@gov.bm. Customers urgently requiring IP certificates or notices may submit their request via email and arrange an appointment for curbside collection.
.BM Domain Name Registration
“Customers needing to register a .BM domain name must first conduct a search via www.bermudanic.bm to ensure that the domain name of interest is available. If a customer has not done so already, they are required to create an account using a valid email address (once a domain of interest has been purchased) before checking out.
“Customers should be reminded to complete the validation process of the registration by clicking the link in the email they receive after purchasing, titled ‘Action Required to Activate Your Domain’ and click ‘Get Started’. The user name and password for domain verify .bm are separate from the BermudaNIC login details.
