Appleby Donates $25,000 To Vaccination Clinic

Noting that they are pleased to “support this very worthy cause,” law firm Appleby has donated $25,000 to assist the BHB Covid-19 vaccination clinic.

A spokesperson said, “Leading offshore law firm Appleby has donated $25,000 to the Bermuda Hospitals Charitable Foundation [BHCF], the fundraising arm of the Bermuda Hospitals Board [BHB]. The donation is to assist in the operating costs of the King Edward Memorial Hospital Covid-19 Vaccination Clinic.

“There is a considerable expense associated with the ongoing operation of the Clinic. There are costs for the nurses, administrators, and equipment, patient intake and administering shots which is currently running over $700,000 for a 10-week period.

“The BHB Vaccination Clinic has been immunizing more than 250 people per day and it needs to keep operating to vaccinate everyone who can be vaccinated and build Bermuda’s herd immunity.”

Tim Faries, Bermuda Managing Partner, said: “The Covid-19 pandemic has had a significant impact in our community. We are immensely grateful to all the health care workers and everyone involved in helping to keep our island safe – the many doctors, nurses, testing centres, lab technicians, contact tracers, administrators and help centre operators. We want to do our part to support the Government of Bermuda’s vaccination programme to help reach herd immunity. We are pleased to support this very worthy cause.”
