During the Shelter in Place, the City of Hamilton “will continue its essential services with a sanitation crew continuing to empty waste bins and collect City trash once a day.”
A spokesperson said, “Due to the Government’s ‘shelter in place’ directive as the country enters a state of emergency, all merchants, retailers and restaurants, across the island, have been ordered closed until the restriction is lifted. The exceptions include grocery stores, pharmacies and gas stations.
“The City of Hamilton will continue its essential services with a sanitation crew continuing to empty waste bins and collect City trash once a day, 6am – 1:30pm. A crew will also still collect recyclables and waste oil on a scaled down schedule.
“As of Friday, April 3rd, the sanitizing of City fixtures and street sweeping will be stopped and all public City bathrooms will be locked after their final scheduled cleaning. City parks continue to be locked.
“For any emergencies, the public can visit the City’s employee webpage for a comprehensive listing of managers. The City’s website is www.cityofhamilton.bm. The City’s social media platforms on FaceBook, Instagram and Twitter will also be updated with any further developments or changes to trash collection and the public can also reach out via those outlets with any questions.”
