Noting that an “overseas news website is giving inaccurate and misleading information about Bermuda,” the Government is urging the public to use credible online sources for information.
A Government spokesperson said, “The Government of Bermuda is aware that an overseas news website is giving inaccurate and misleading information about Bermuda. The island remains in Phase 4, the New Normal. The website administration has been contacted and asked to correct their story.
“Members of the public should consult coronavirus.gov.bm for accurate, up-to-date information about COVID-19 and can report false news websites to stopcybercrimes@gov.bm.”
The overseas website in question has a false story including what appears to be made up quotes purportedly from the Premier, and the article states that Bermuda “has 60,000 residents, 8,500 of whom are people.”
