In light of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the Information Commissioner’s Office has moved to a remote work environment.
A spokesperson said, “On 17 March 2020, the Information Commissioner’s Office [ICO] moved to a remote work environment and continues to offer services to the public and other stakeholders.
Information Commissioner Gitanjali Gutierrez explained, “I made the decision to proactively move the ICO team to a remote office environment as of today. The ICO’s small size allowed the office to shift efficiently, securely and quickly.
“This proactive step allows the ICO officers to transition prior to any further measures the Government must take to contain the spread of COVID-19.
“The ICO supports the Government’s efforts to encourage social distancing to protect our most vulnerable populations, while maintaining full services to the public. ICO officers are connected, accessible and continue to be available to the public if they have any PATI- related concerns or queries”.
“Please note the following:
- “Deliveries to the office of the ICO must be scheduled by calling 543-3700 or by emailing info@ico.bm.
- “As always, PATI requests must be made in writing to the respective public authorities. If you require guidance on how to make a PATI request, please visit our website www.ico.bm for further information or contact the ICO at 543-3700.
- “PATI requests to the ICO should continue to be sent to its Information Officer at acstyannes@ico.bm. Requests for an independent review by the Information Commissioner should be sent to info@ico.bm.”
