Amendments were made to the Emergency Powers [Covid-19 Shelter in Place] Regulations 2020 related to co-parenting, alcohol and tobacco wholesalers being allowed to distribute, fishermen & farmers, laundromats and more.
This comes after the initial Shelter in Place was extended to May 2nd, as the Government seeks to stem any spread of the Covid-19 virus, and the Regulations detailed below are operative effective today, April 20th.
The regulations states, “These Regulations, which amend the Emergency Powers [Covid-19 Shelter in Place] Regulations 2020, may be cited as the Emergency Powers [Covid-19 Shelter in Place] Amendment [No 2] Regulations 2020.
“After paragraph [2] insert— Parents of a minor child who do not live together may also leave home during the curfew, between the hours of 7am and 7pm only, to take the child to stay for one or more nights at the home of the other parent to give effect to an agreement between the parents.
“Alcohol and tobacco wholesalers. Persons engaged in the wholesale distribution to permitted businesses of alcohol and tobacco products [on Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays only].”
“Fishermen and farmers. A licensed fisherman may sell fresh local fish roadside between the hours of 7am to 2pm, Monday to Saturday only, subject to the supervision of the Minister of Home Affairs. A registered commercial farmer may sell fresh local produce roadside between the hours of 7am to 2pm, Monday to Saturday only, subject to the supervision of the Minister of Home Affairs.”
