The Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo [BAMZ] will be closing the zoo portion of the facility to the general public from today [March 15] through to 30th April.
“This action is being taken for the safety of the animals, members of the public who visit the zoo and animal care staff,” explained BAMZ Principal Curator Dr. Ian Walker.
“Hundreds of visitors come through our doors each week and, in this time of social distancing and under the advice of Premier Burt and health organizations across the world to avoid gatherings of more than 50 people, we felt this was the most appropriate action to take.”
“We apologise to our loyal patrons and ask for their understanding at this time as we all do our best to protect our community from this disease.”
