Given the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the City of Hamilton has postponed several of its upcoming events, including the City Scavenger Hunt in Queen Elizabeth Park and the Bermuda International Town Crier Competition.
A spokesperson said, “With the Bermuda Government’s directive to limit mass gatherings, as well as the recent order for certain arriving passengers to self-quarantine, the City of Hamilton will postpone several of its upcoming events.
“This will affect the City Scavenger Hunt scheduled for April 5th in Queen Elizabeth Park as well as the Bermuda International Town Crier Competition scheduled for April 22nd to April 24th. Both events will be rescheduled.
“The City was also to be hosted at the Anglican Cathedral on Sunday, March 22nd for an Evensong church service to celebrate the City’s 225 years of service to the community. This, too, has been postponed to a later date, yet to be determined.
“An Unsheltered Awareness Week to be hosted by the City from March 22nd to March 27th has also been postponed. Events included a sleep-out, a public event on the steps of City Hall, and a free public screening of the movie The Public on March 26th at City Hall.
“The City will look to reschedule the awareness week to later in the year.
“City services have not been affected at this time and will continue to operate as per usual. Any updates from the City regarding events and service interruption will also be shared to its social media platforms including FaceBook, Instagram and Twitter as well as the City website, www.cityofhamilton.bm.”
