April 2021 was the worst month on record for Bermuda, with over 1,100 new cases during the month, and sadly the island recorded 16 Covid related deaths during the month, the highest amount in one month to date.
April also saw the first time the island had what is, in effect, the worst ranking from the two major overseas entities, with the WHO increasing the island’s classification to Community Transmission, and the U.S. CDC moving the island to Level 4 which stated there is a “Very High Level of Covid-19 in Bermuda” and advised that “travelers should avoid all travel to Bermuda.”
